"Menehune"

The Menehune are mythical indigenous people who live hidden from sight amongst the Islands of Hawaii. When Makakilo Elementary asked us to create their new mascot costume based on these storied people, we were up to the challenge.

Normally, we follow the credo “Your mascot should WEAR your logo…it shouldn’t BE your logo”. But in this case, we made an exception because it was very important to our client that their mascot costume represent their heritage properly.

So, with some minor modifications, “Menehune” was born! And now, he is roaming the Hawaiian Islands for all eyes to see. Apparently some traditions can change after all!
